US President Donald Trump said that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and political adviser Jared Kushner had the impression that russian dictator vladimir putin wants to end the war started by the aggressor state russia in Ukraine.
He said this to journalists in the Oval Office.
"He would like to end the war... That was their impression... Their impression was that he would like to see the war ended. I think he'd like to get back to dealing a more normal life. I think it'd like to be trading with the United States of America, frankly, instead of, you know, losing thousands of soldiers a week, but their impression was very strongly that he'd like to make a deal," Trump said.
The US president also called the meeting in moscow with the russians "very successful."
Trump also said that the best time to conclude a peace agreement between Ukraine and russia was when when he spoke about "no cards" during the negotiations.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, December 4, US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will meet with NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov in Miami for talks on a peace plan to resolve the russian-Ukrainian war.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that russian dictator vladimir putin's statements of the last two days indicate that he does not plan to end the war. He added that Ukraine supports the efforts of its partners to achieve peace, and russia should "stop wasting the world's time."
