The Ministry of Defense has introduced the "Budget" information system to inform about the use of budget funds. This was announced by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"I have signed an order to put the "Budget" information system into operation. Now information about the use of budget funds in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces is always up-to-date and collected in one place," he said.
According to Shmyhal, now in the system, the General Staff, command and military units can see online every day how much money has been allocated, used and remains.
"No expectations of quarterly reports, no delays and "blind spots" - everything is timely and transparent. This allows you to manage funding much more accurately: notice delays, identify inefficiencies and respond quickly. Over 60% of fund managers already work in the system... We are creating a modern core of defense resource management, and "Budget" is its key financial component," he noted.
Shmyhal noted that the system is built on SAP components - technology used by over 90% of NATO armies.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October, the Ministry of Defense allocated an additional UAH 1.9 billion for the purchase of drones by the military through the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace.
In August, Shmyhal announced that the Ministry of Defense was increasing funding for battalions on the front line.
