Defense Ministry allocates additional UAH 1.9 billion for drone procurement

The Ministry of Defense has allocated an additional UAH 1.9 billion for the military to purchase drones through the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace. The Ministry of Defense announced this, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has allocated an additional UAH 1.9 billion for which the military will be able to order drones and other equipment through DOT-Chain Defence. Another 50 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received access to the marketplace. This will increase the total number of units using the system to 180," the report says.

The Ministry of Defense notes that during the first three months of operation, almost 100,000 drones were delivered to the military through DOT-Chain Defence for a total amount of UAH 3.74 billion, the average delivery time for drones "from stock" is 10 days.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September, the Cabinet of Ministers additionally allocated over UAH 2 billion to the Ministry of Defense to finance the "Bonus Drone Army" project.

The Ministry of Defense plans to scale the marketplace to all Armed Forces of Ukraine and launch a drone designer.

The DOT-Chain Defence marketplace was developed by the "State Rear Operator" to provide the military with weapons and equipment. The system unites brigades, manufacturers, and the "Defense Procurement Agency" (DPA) in one secure digital environment. Units independently select the means they need, and the DPA takes on all organizational processes - from concluding contracts to making payments.

In addition, DOT-Chain Defence is used within the framework of the "Bonus Drone Army" program, through which all Defense Forces of Ukraine are provided, currently the system presents 200 units of equipment - FPV drones, aircraft-type drones, attack helicopters, etc. - from 49 Ukrainian manufacturers.

Providing troops through DOT-Chain Defence is carried out in parallel with other programs and is an additional source of drone supply.
