After a visit to Moscow and lengthy negotiations with the russian side, US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have cancelled their planned visit to Brussels to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported on the social network X by Washington correspondent for Foreign Press and Kyiv Post Alex Raufoglu.
Thus, Witkoff and Kushner are already on their way from Moscow to the US.
"President Zelenskyy is due to meet with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Brussels tonight after their visit to Moscow." According to sources, the meeting in Brussels has been cancelled. Zelenskyy is returning home," the journalist wrote.
The Kremlin claims that "Witkoff and Kushner 'promised' to go directly to Washington after talks with putin," he added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kremlin said there was no compromise version of the peace plan after the meeting with Witkoff and Kushner.
Before the meeting with the American delegation, putin threatened to cut off Ukraine from the Black Sea if Kyiv continued to "pirate" russian tankers.
He also stated that the aggressor country of russia was not going to and is not going to go to war with Europe. However, Moscow is "ready right now" in the event of such a conflict.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that the statements of russian dictator vladimir putin over the past two days indicate that he does not plan to end the war.
