Russian dictator vladimir putin has threatened to cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea if Kyiv continues to commit "piracy" against russian tankers.
Putin made the corresponding statement on Tuesday, December 2, according to TASS.
The dictator called Ukrainian attacks on russian tankers carrying oil and other raw materials, the export of which brings Moscow money to finance the war, "piracy."
Putin said that russia intends to take a number of "appropriate measures."
"First, we will expand the range of such strikes on port facilities and ships, on vessels that enter Ukrainian ports," the dictator said.
In addition, russia will allegedly consider a number of appropriate measures against countries whose vessels enter Ukrainian ports. The russian dictator did not specify what exactly he meant.
He added that a "radical way" is to cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea.
"Then it will be impossible for it to engage in piracy in general," the russian dictator said.
Several russian tankers attacked in Black Sea
The russian dictator's statement came against the backdrop of a series of incidents in the Black Sea, as a result of which three tankers have already been damaged.
Today, December 2, the Midvolga-2 tanker was attacked off the coast of Turkey. This is a vessel under the russian flag, which was heading to Georgia with a cargo of sunflowerseed oil. It was attacked by a drone. The crew was not injured.
Official Kyiv said that it had nothing to do with the attack on the Midvolga-2 tanker. They also noted that the incident was similar to a staged event, since the tanker's course from russia to Georgia through Turkish waters makes no sense.
And last Saturday, November 29, the tankers Kairos and Virat were attacked in the Black Sea. According to media reports, they are part of a "shadow fleet" that russia uses to export oil to circumvent sanctions.
