The defendants in the case of businessman Tymur Mindich had secret files and dossiers on 15 National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) detectives, 9 Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) employees and 10 journalists.
This was stated by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and the head of the detective unit Oleksandr Abakumov during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the NABU Director, the defendants in the case collected data on various state officials. They collected secret dossiers on over 500 different individuals. In particular, the defendants collected dossiers on 15 NABU detectives who investigated cases in the energy sector. All these certificates contain data on the places of residence of the NABU detectives.
"We see a connection between the appearance of these certificates and our active actions," Kryvonos said.
According to Abakumov, among the files are similar dossiers on 16 MPs, in particular, Anastasia Radina, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, on 18 ministers or deputy ministers in the energy sector.
The dossier lists also included 10 journalists, in particular, Yurii Nikolov, the late Oleksa Shalaiskyi, as well as 9 SSU employees. There are also profiles on deputy ministers of justice.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau believes that former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov helped businessman Tymur Mindich receive significant amounts of money. According to NABU, former Minister of Justice and former Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko helped businessman Tymur Mindich control financial flows in the energy sector in exchange for his patronage before President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office published part of the audio recordings as part of the investigation into a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector, codenamed "Midas".
According to the NABU and SAPO, the main area of the suspects' activities was the systematic receipt of illegal benefits from Energoatom's counterparties in the amount of 10% to 15% of the value of contracts.
Within the framework of the case, searches were carried out, in particular, at the home of businessman and co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Tymur Mindich. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had not communicated with the co-owner of Kvartal-95 Tymur Mindich since the beginning of the investigation into corruption schemes in the energy sector. Zelenskyy also signed a decree on the introduction of sanctions against Tymur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman, defendants in the case of the corruption scheme in Energoatom. Both, according to the decree, are citizens of Israel.
