American officials allegedly expected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to sign a new peace plan by November 27, and the entire process would be completed by early December.
This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources, including Ukrainian officials.
According to FT sources, Kyiv is under significant pressure to agree to the proposed plan as soon as possible. Some sources compare the situation to the beginning of the year, when the US insisted on concluding a mineral agreement.
According to FT, US officials expected the agreement to be signed by Thanksgiving Day, November 27. Then they planned to present the document to Moscow, and the entire process, according to the original plan, was to be completed by December.
However, as the publication notes, such deadlines are hardly realistic. Sources in the Office of the President of Ukraine emphasize that the proposed plan contains several points that Kyiv considers as "red lines". Currently, the Ukrainian side is preparing counter-proposals for transfer to the USA.
