On the night of November 11, an air alert was declared in the northern part of the Romanian Tulcea County. This happened after the radars of the Romanian Ministry of Defense recorded groups of drones in the area directly adjacent to the country's airspace.
At the same time, on the Ukrainian side of the Danube, near the port of Izmail, numerous explosions were heard, probably caused by the activity of enemy drones.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense later confirmed that one of the recorded drones did indeed crash to the ground in the commune of Grindu (Tulcea County). Possible fragments of the drone were found at the scene of the incident.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 13, Romania scrambled fighter jets because of a drone from the aggressor country, russia, which entered the country's territory by about 10 kilometers and was in the airspace of a NATO country for about 50 minutes.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassador of the russian federation on September 14 and expressed a strong protest over the violation of Romanian airspace by russian drones.
Meanwhile, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said that the incursion of russian drones into Polish airspace was an attempt by the Kremlin to test NATO's reaction through gradual escalation, without provoking a full-scale response.
