Russia's losses from recently applied sanctions will amount to at least USD 50 billion per year - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the losses of the aggressor state russia only from the restrictions that were applied recently will amount to at least USD 50 billion per year.

He reported this on Facebook with a reference to intelligence data.

Thus, Zelenskyy informed that the first detailed estimates from intelligence regarding the impact of new sanctions by partners on the russian military machine have become available. According to him, communication with partners in the preparation of new sanctions will be adjusted based on this.

"We record significant losses for russia from the already applied restrictions on oil companies and we predict that, provided that principled and consistent pressure on Moscow continues, their losses only from those restrictions that were applied recently will amount to at least USD 50 billion per year," the President of Ukraine said.

At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that there will be more sanctions - Ukraine already has relevant signals from partners. He assured that the volumes of oil supplies from Arab states to the world market "can definitely prevent" any destabilization and price jumps in the market, which the russians are afraid of.

"Regular data exchange has also been established with key states regarding russian individuals and schemes that deserve the application of sanctions, and a significant part of our proposals are taken into account by our partners. Thank you for this. The measures regarding the russian tanker fleet, which we discussed with European leaders at the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing last week, must also be fully implemented," the President added.

He also said that the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashchenko, also reported on the mood and immediate plans of the Chinese leadership in the context of russia's war against Ukraine.

"It is important that China joins the efforts to stop russia's continued efforts to expand and prolong the war. There will be appropriate instructions to our diplomats based on information from meetings that have taken place in the region in recent days," he concluded.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Following the talks, Trump said that they had discussed the russian-Ukrainian war at length and would work together to "try to resolve" it. However, the issue of russian oil imports was not raised.

Earlier, on October 22, the US Department of the Treasury announced new sanctions against russia. Restrictions were imposed against Rosneft and Lukoil, as well as their 34 subsidiaries.
