Trump explains why he did not meet with Kim Jong Un during his trip to Asia

US President Donald Trump said that he did not meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his working trip to Asia due to a tight schedule. He had previously spoken about such a possibility, if Kim expressed his desire. At the same time, Trump expressed his readiness to meet in the future.

This is reported by CNN.

"We never got to talk because... look, I was very busy," Trump told reporters after departing South Korea.

He added: "I think it would be probably disrespectful to the importance of this meeting (with Chinese leader Xi Jinping) if we did. So I will go back, with respect to Kim Jong Un."

Recall that Trump earlier said that he "would be happy to meet" with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as part of his trip to a number of Asian countries. When asked if he was considering extending his trip to facilitate a meeting with Kim Jong Un, Trump said he was open to it.

Meanwhile, following a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Trump said they had discussed the russian-Ukrainian war at length and would work together to "try to resolve" it.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, it became known that the command of the russian occupation army is involving units of North Korean troops to support operations in the Sumy Region, in particular, North Korean UAV operators are correcting russian strikes.
