Moldova's ANRE regulator approved 50% discount on tariff for gas transit to Ukraine

Moldova's ANRE regulator approved a 50% discount on the tariff for gas transit within the Route 1 route (Greece - Moldova - Ukraine).

This was announced by the former CEO of the Gas Transportation System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) Serhii Makohon on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Makohon noted that the discount will be valid for only six months, and not until the end of September 2026, as previously discussed.

This is a particularly interesting initiative, as Ukraine plans to significantly increase gas imports due to significant production losses.

Such a discount can significantly reduce the cost of fuel logistics.

He wrote that there is unofficial information that the Romanian regulator ANRE also approved a 50% discount for TRANSGAZ SA, but there has been no official announcement yet.

It is indicated that there are opportunities for gas imports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 22, Ukraine stopped pumping natural gas into underground storage facilities (UGS) and began withdrawing gas from the UGS.

Due to russian strikes, Ukraine will have to increase gas imports by 30%.
