Ukraine has developed technical solutions and a ready-made algorithm of actions in case of damage to the gas transportation infrastructure by the aggressor country russia. The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Hrynchuk announced this on Friday, October 24.
Ukrainian gas infrastructure has become one of the targets of russian attacks over the past two months, Hrynchuk said. According to her, despite the difficulties, Ukraine has made planned gas reserves and imported the envisaged share, as well as restoring damaged facilities.
"We have ready-made algorithms for limiting, reconnecting or changing gas supply routes. All regions are informed and technically prepared for any scenario. We hope that restrictions will not be needed, but we are ready," emphasized Hrynchuk.
All technical solutions for prompt response to damages to the gas transportation infrastructure have already been developed and communicated to the regions, the Energy Minister said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 7, Svitlana Hrynchuk said that due to russian strikes, Ukraine would have to increase gas imports by 30%.
At the same time, in September, natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities (UGS) exceeded last year's values for the first time since the beginning of the year.
