Ukraine is open to a diplomatic path to ending the war, including a ceasefire and negotiations, but categorically rejects any conditions that require territorial concessions or "donation" of Ukrainian lands to the aggressor country. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference in Sweden.
He emphasized that any diplomacy should take place on conditions that protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, identity and security of Ukraine.
"We are ready for diplomacy, but not under the conditions that we must come from somewhere, giving the aggressor our land, our territories. Of course, this is not about kilometers - it is about our homes, people, history and identity. This is our territorial integrity," Zelenskyy stated.
Zelenskyy noted that at the moment russia is not demonstrating a real readiness for constructive negotiations. According to him, all of its diplomatic messages are aimed solely at "buying time" and postponing the adoption of strong decisions by the US and Europe, in particular on strengthening sanctions against the russian federation and providing Ukraine with the necessary weapons.
Recall, the British edition of the Financial Times (FT) wrote that US President Donald Trump called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting in Washington on October 17 to accept the conditions of the aggressor country of russia. Otherwise, russian dictator vladimir putin will destroy Ukraine.
Trump himself denied that he allegedly offered him to give Donbas to the aggressor state of russia during a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington. According to him, he called for a halt to hostilities where they are, and everything else will depend on negotiations.
Earlier, Trump said that russian dictator vladimir putin would take back part of the occupied territories of Ukraine.
