President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US President Donald Trump today, October 17, at 1 p.m. Washington time (8 p.m. Kyiv time). This is evidenced by the schedule of the US President, published on Roll Call.
The schedule states that the presidential talks will take place in an informal setting over lunch. They will be closed to the press.
After the meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at 10 p.m., Donald Trump will leave for Florida.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the evening of October 16, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington on a working visit, which includes a series of non-public meetings with representatives of the US defense and energy sectors, as well as a speech to members of the US Congress. The main purpose of the trip is to prepare for key talks with President Donald Trump.
Also on October 16, Trump said that he had spoken with putin and called the conversation "productive." He said the two sides agreed to a meeting of high-level US-russian advisers next week, which will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other designated participants.
Trump added that the presidents would later meet in person in Budapest. The American leader said that the conversation brought "great progress" and that he plans to discuss its details with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
