The aggressor country russia has accused Ukraine of an alleged attack on the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant. It turned out that the drone fell on the territory of the nuclear power plant after being shot down by russian electronic warfare.

This is evidenced by the message of the russian energy company Rosenergoatom.

The occupiers said that on the night of October 7, a Ukrainian drone allegedly crashed into one of the cooling towers of the 6th power unit and exploded.

"There was no damage and no casualties, but the detonation left a dark mark on the cooling tower," the statement said.

The invaders accused Ukraine of an "act of aggression" against russian nuclear power plants, without providing any evidence that the UAV targeted the NPP.

At the same time, Rosenergoatom wrote in its post that the drone crashed into the cooling tower after being suppressed by the russian army's electronic warfare (EW) systems.

The Novovoronezh NPP is a nuclear power plant located in the city of Novovoronezh in the western Voronezh Oblast of the russian federation. Four power units are currently in operation at the plant.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 12 this year, the russian corporation Rosatom said that a drone attacked a power unit of the Smolensk NPP.

As a reminder, in late August, one of the power units at the Novovoronezh NPP suspended operation due to the "successful" operation of russian air defense systems.
