Russian aircraft violates Norwegian airspace 3 times since beginning of year

The aggressor country russia has violated Norwegian airspace three times since the beginning of this year.

The country's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has stated this, his words are quoted by The Guardian.

"The incidents in Norway are smaller in scope than the violations against Estonia, Poland and Romania, in terms of both location and duration. They are nevertheless incidents that we view very seriously," the head of the Norwegian government said.

According to him, two incidents occurred over the sea northeast of the city of Vardø in April and August. Another incident occurred in July over uninhabited territory near the eastern border.

Su-34 fighters, Su-24 bombers and a multi-role L-410 aircraft participated in the border violation. The incidents lasted from one to four minutes.

He added that in each case, the Norwegian military was unable to determine whether they were intentional or caused by navigation errors.

"Regardless of the reason, this is not acceptable and we have made that clear to the Russian authorities," Støre said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of September 22-23, airports in Norway and Denmark temporarily suspended operations due to unidentified drones that appeared in the countries' airspace.

As a reminder, on September 19, three russian MiG-31 fighter jets, which can be equipped with Kinzhal missiles, flew into Estonian airspace. They were there for 12 minutes until NATO aircraft flew to intercept them.

Also on September 19, two russian fighter jets flew very close to a Polish oil and gas platform in the Baltic Sea.
