Three MiG-31 fighter jets from the aggressor country russia violated Estonian airspace and remained over the country for 12 minutes, the Estonian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday, September 19.
The russian fighter jets entered Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland on September 19 without authorization and remained there for 12 minutes. The Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned russia's charge d'affaires ai to Estonia to protest and hand over a note.
"Russia has already violated Estonian airspace four times this year, which in itself is unacceptable. But today's invasion involving three fighter jets that entered our airspace is unprecedentedly brazen," Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said.
According to him, russia continues to check the borders and show increasing aggression, in response to which it should receive political and economic pressure.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 14, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the russian ambassador and expressed a protest over the violation of Romanian airspace by russian drones.
On September 13, due to the threat of the use of drones by the aggressor country russia in the border area of Ukraine, Poland raised military aviation and deployed ground-based air defense systems.
