On the night of September 23, problems arose with the operation of airports in Denmark and Norway due to the appearance of unknown drones in the airspace, DR and VG report.
In Copenhagen, at around 8:30 p.m. local time on September 22, two or three large drones were spotted in the sky. For safety reasons, the airport was suspended, which caused delays and cancellations of flights. Four hours later, operations were resumed, as the drones left the area on their own. The police, together with PET intelligence and the Armed Forces, launched an investigation.
A similar situation occurred in Oslo. Due to suspicions of the appearance of drones, some flights were redirected, and later it was decided to close the airport. Two people were detained for illegal drone flights in the city center. The airport reopened at around 4 am.
Danish and Norwegian law enforcement agencies are working together to determine whether these incidents are related.
Earlier, on September 10, about twenty russian drones flew en masse into Polish territory for the first time, some of them advancing almost 300 km deep into the country.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of September 19-20, British Eurofighter Typhoon fighters carried out the first combat sortie as part of NATO's Eastern Guard mission, which was announced after the incident with russian UAVs.
On September 18, Ukraine and Poland agreed on joint exercises on the use and counteraction of UAVs.
On the night of September 9-10, russian UAVs flew into Polish territory.
