Trump says putin let him down by ending war in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said russian dictator vladimir putin "let him down" because, despite good relations, he has not yet wanted to end the war. CNN reported this on Thursday, September 18.

At a press conference with the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Trump said that he had hoped to end the war in Ukraine much faster, because he considered it the easiest thing to do. According to him, good relations with putin should have contributed to this.

"He let me down. He really let me down," Trump continued. "It will be russia and Ukraine, but we'll see what comes of it. But it turned out - I thought it could be one of the easiest," the US President emphasized.

Trump said that russia's war against Ukraine will eventually end, but it won't be easy, because "you never know in war... Things happen that are very opposite to what you thought. You thought it would be easy or hard for you, and it turned out the other way around."

On September 15, Trump said that he did not rule out organizing a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and russian dictator vladimir putin, but admitted that doing so would not be easy.
