During a massive air attack by the aggressor country russia on the night of September 9-10, russian drones flew near the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne Nuclear Power Plants.
This is stated in a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Members of the IAEA monitoring mission at the Khmelnytskyi NPP were informed that nine russian drones flew within three kilometers of the plant during the night. And 13 drones were recorded flying near the Rivne NPP.
Members of both groups reported that they heard the sounds of drones and gunfire while they were in their homes.
"According to our teams on the ground, these were unusually large-scale military actions near these two nuclear power plants, which should never have happened. I reiterate my call for maximum military restraint near such facilities. A serious nuclear accident is in no one's interests and must be prevented at all costs," said IAEA Director General Rafael Gross.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 12 of this year, a major fire broke out near the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
Later, the IAEA stated that the fire near the Zaporizhzhia NPP did not affect the radiation level.
