Poland admits that its airspace was violated 19 times during night. Warsaw asks to apply Article 4 of NATO

On the night of September 10, Polish airspace was violated at least 19 times by drones that first arrived from the territory of Belarus.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported this in the Sejm, noting that at least three drones were shot down.

According to Tusk, the first violation was recorded at 11:30 pm on September 9, and the last one at around 6:30 am on September 10, which indicates the scale of the night operation. The Prime Minister emphasized that these data may not be final.

This is the first time that drones violated Polish airspace not from Ukraine, but directly from the territory of Belarus. Tusk called the incident "small russian provocations" that have become particularly dangerous for the country.

In connection with the situation, Poland has asked NATO to apply Article 4, which provides for joint consultations of member states in the event of a threat to territorial integrity or security.

The Prime Minister stressed that "there is currently no reason to claim that we are in a state of war," but at the same time emphasized the high danger of this provocation compared to previous incidents.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces confirmed the violation of the country's airspace during russia's night attack on Ukraine, and an operation is underway to identify and neutralize the objects.

Debris from one of the drones that attacked Poland fell on a residential building in the village of Wyryki, Lublin Voivodeship.

Zelenskyy called the russian drones in Poland an extremely dangerous precedent for Europe.

And the Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of September 10, it warned Poland about the approach of "unknown aircraft", which allegedly allowed the Polish side to "respond promptly". Meanwhile, in early July, 4G modems with Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards were found in the wreckage of russian drones shot down in Ukraine, which indicates that the Kremlin is preparing for flights over neighboring countries.
