Kremlin has been preparing drone attacks on Poland since July - Polish SIM cards found in drones

Russia's targeted drone attack on Polish territory on the night of September 10 was part of a long-term escalation plan. Back in early July, 4G modems with Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards were found in the wreckage of russian drones shot down in Ukraine, indicating that the Kremlin was preparing to fly over neighboring countries.

This is reported by the military portal Defense Express.

The Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards were discovered in a report dated July 2, which contained details of the downed drones. This indicates that the russian federation has already tested connecting drones to mobile communications to transmit intelligence information and flight corrections.

Using the mobile Internet allows you to receive data on the operation of air defense systems, electronic warfare, and transmit video from UAV cameras. The russians have long used similar technologies against Ukraine.

Despite the information about Polish SIM cards, the news caused almost no resonance in Poland, although russian drones consistently violated its airspace in the summer. Some UAVs exploded on the ground, as on August 20 near the village of Osyny in the Lublin Voivodeship, 40 km from the NATO base.

It is currently unknown whether similar devices were on the drones that attacked Poland on September 10. However, experts suggest that part of this attack could have been reconnaissance of the country's air defense systems, especially in view of the planned russian-Belarusian exercises "West-2025", which start on September 12.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces confirmed the violation of the country's airspace during russia's night attack on Ukraine, and an operation is underway to identify and neutralize the objects.

Debris from one of the drones that attacked Poland fell on a residential building in the village of Wyryki in the Lublin Voivodeship.

Zelenskyy called russian drones in Poland an extremely dangerous precedent for Europe.
