President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the activities of at least eight drones of the aggressor state of russia in the airspace of Poland, as well as NATO, an escalating step. He stressed that this is an extremely dangerous precedent for Europe.
He wrote about this on Facebook.
"Moscow always tests the limits of the possible and, if it does not meet a strong reaction, remains at a new level of escalation. Today there was another escalating step - russian-Iranian Shaheds operated in the airspace of Poland, in the airspace of NATO," Zelenskyy stressed.
The President drew attention to the fact that this was not just one Shahed, which could be called an accident, but at least 8 strike drones, which, he emphasized, were aimed at Poland.
"An extremely dangerous precedent for Europe. Whether there will be further steps depends entirely on the coordination and strength of the response. The russians must feel the consequences. Russia must feel that the war cannot be expanded and will have to be ended," Zelenskyy said.
In particular, he stressed that "the sanctions pause has been going on for too long," and the postponement of restrictions on russia and its allies means an increase in the severity of the strikes.
"We need enough weapons to deter russia. We need a strong response, and this can only be a joint response from all partners: Ukraine, Poland, all Europeans, the United States. Thank you to everyone who is helping," he concluded.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces confirmed the violation of the country's airspace during russia's night attack on Ukraine. An operation is underway to identify and neutralize the objects.
