Suspect in murder of Parubiy reveals his name and explains why he killed him

The suspect in the murder of former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, who was a current MP, revealed his name and admitted that he killed him.

He said this before the start of the court hearing in Lviv, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"I admit that I killed him," the suspect confessed.

He explained that it was revenge on the Ukrainian authorities.

"This is my revenge on the Ukrainian authorities," the suspect in the murder added.

His name is Mykhailo Stselnikov, he was born in 1973.

Before the start of the trial, he said that he wanted to be sentenced as soon as possible and exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners in russia, because he wants to find the body of his missing son.

"I want the verdict to be faster, and for me to be exchanged for military prisoners so that I can go and find my son's body. That's all," the killer added.

He also stated that no one blackmailed him and denied cooperating with the russian federation in preparing Parubiy's murder.

"No (no one blackmailed him). I did not cooperate," the suspect said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, who was killed the day before in Lviv, lived modestly on the salary of MP.

The suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy, who was detained at night in the Khmelnytskyi Region, has already given his first testimony.
