The former chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy, who was killed the day before in Lviv, lived modestly only on the salary of MP.
This is evidenced by his electronic declaration for the past year, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Parubiy and his wife have a shared apartment in Lviv, in addition, his wife owns another apartment in the city. They also used another apartment in Lviv of 158 square meters, which belongs to an individual named Nadiya Fedak. In 2022, after start of the war, Parubiy's wife bought a new Peugeot 3008 for UAH 1.8 million.
Parubiy himself used a car that does not belong to him, but to an individual named Petro Bondar. This is a 2019 Hyundai Grand Santa Fe, which Parubiy received the right to drive in 2021.
Last year, the former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada earned UAH 687,000 in salary, received UAH 726,720 as reimbursement for expenses related to the performance of parliamentary duties, as well as UAH 90,000 in compensation for travel costs within Ukraine.
His wife works at the Franko National University of Lviv, where she earned about UAH 200,000 per year. Andriy Parubiy left USD 55,000 and EUR 25,000 in cash savings, UAH 200,000 and EUR 2,000 in the bank.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy, who was detained at night in the Khmelnytskyi Region, has already given his first testimony.
On August 30, an unknown person killed the MP and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy in Lviv. He fired about 8 shots from a short-barreled firearm.
