Murder of Andriy Parubiy. Suspect gave first testimony - Zelenskyy

The suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy, who was detained at night in the Khmelnytskyi Region, has already given his first testimony. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel.

"I just spoke with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. He reported on further procedural steps regarding the suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy. There are the suspect's first statements. Further urgent investigative actions are currently being carried out to establish all the circumstances of this murder," the message says.

According to the President, the National Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine continue to work around the clock.

Recall that 24 hours after the murder, law enforcement officers were already on the direct trail of the shooter, and 36 hours later - he was detained in the Khmelnytskyi Region.

On August 30, an unknown person killed MP and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy in Lviv. He fired about 8 shots from a short-barreled firearm.

Parubiy will be buried on September 2 at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
