German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he was not sure whether russian dictator vladimir putin would have the "determination" to come to the meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This is reported by Sky News.
"There is a feeling that these are decisive days for Ukraine," Merz said at a press conference after the meeting on August 18.
The German Chancellor noted that expectations from the meeting on August 18 were not only met, but exceeded. He added that Trump agrees that the meeting between vladimir putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy should take place within two weeks.
At the same time, according to Merz, he is not sure whether putin will have the "determination" to come to the bilateral summit with Zelenskyy.
Merz also welcomed Trump's statement on possible security guarantees and added that all of Europe should participate in them.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump announced the start of preparations for a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and russian president vladimir putin.
According to Trump, a trilateral meeting will be held after this meeting.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he will discuss the "territorial issue" directly with russian dictator vladimir putin.
