US President Donald Trump announced the start of preparations for the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and russian president vladimir putin. He wrote about this on his social network Truth Social.
Thus, President Trump spoke about the call to putin and the upcoming trilateral meeting.
"After the meetings, I called ... putin and began preparations for a meeting between ... putin and President Zelenskyy, the location of which is yet to be determined. After this meeting, we will hold a trilateral meeting," he said.
Trump also noted that during the meeting, security guarantees for Ukraine were discussed, which will be provided by various European countries in coordination with the United States of America.
"I had a very productive meeting with distinguished guests: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of France Emmanuel Macron, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Merz, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, at the White House, which concluded with a further meeting in the Oval Office," Trump said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 18, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump on the doorstep of the White House.
On August 18, Zelenskyy said that he had coordinated positions with the leaders of Finland, the United Kingdom, Italy, the European Commission, and the NATO Secretary General before meeting with US President Donald Trump.
