President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he will discuss the "issue of territories" directly with russian dictator vladimir putin. He told reporters about this following the meetings at the White House.
Thus, Zelenskyy noted that during the negotiations with the American side he "argued a little" about the percentage of occupied territories of Ukraine, reflected on the map that the United States presented at the meeting. However, the head of state emphasized that there were no controversial points with Donald Trump, adding that in general the conversation took place in a "warm and substantive atmosphere."
"For the first time, I had the opportunity - for the first time for various reasons - to talk about such things with the US President, his team, very well analyzing every square kilometer of ours, which is covered with the blood of our fighters," the President said.
Zelenskyy also emphasized to his partners when and how the occupation of certain territories of Ukraine, in particular parts of the east and Crimea, took place in 2014. At the same time, Zelenskyy did not disclose whether the US insists on a possible "exchange of territories".
"We will leave the issue of territories between me and putin," Zelenskyy emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, US President Donald Trump earlier announced the start of preparations for a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the president of the aggressor country, the russian federation, vladimir putin.
He also noted that during the meeting on August 18, security guarantees for Ukraine were discussed, which will be provided by various European countries in coordination with the United States of America.
