The occupation administration of Crimea, controlled by the aggressor country russia, warned that a long-term shutdown of mobile internet is expected on the peninsula in the near future.
This is evidenced by the message of the "Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications" dated August 11.
"A long-term shutdown of mobile internet is possible in Crimea," the occupiers said.
According to the occupiers, the shutdown is allegedly related to "countering enemy attacks" and "ensuring the safety of citizens."
The occupiers added that mobile communications and wired internet will continue to operate as usual.
They also published cards with recommendations for residents of the peninsula on what to do in the event of a long-term shutdown of mobile internet.
Today, August 12, the occupation administration of Crimea said that the shutdown of mobile internet could last from several hours to several days.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early July of this year, mobile Internet shutdowns were introduced in the Rostov Oblast of the russian federation. They are allegedly needed to counter UAV attacks.
Recall, in November 2024, it became known that the russian authorities are preparing to conduct training on a large-scale disconnection from the global Internet.
We also wrote that in russia it was proposed to restrict access to the Internet for couples who do not have children. This will supposedly stimulate the birth rate.
