The Saratov refinery in russia, owned by Rosneft, has suspended oil deliveries after a drone attack on Sunday, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources.
The publication notes that this is the third oil refinery in russia to be damaged by drone strikes in August.
"Russian and Ukrainian military forces have been exchanging air strikes ahead of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and his counterpart Vladimir Putin scheduled for this Friday," Bloomberg wrote.
The Saratov refinery, located in russia's Volga region, has a design capacity of about 140,000 barrels of oil per day. Bloomberg notes that a prolonged shutdown of the plant could affect domestic gasoline supplies, especially during a seasonal increase in demand for fuel.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery (NRF). The plant is capable of processing up to 7 million tons of crude oil annually.
Meanwhile, on August 2, drones attacked oil refineries in two regions of the russian federation. A military airfield and a radio factory were also hit that day.
