US President Donald Trump "made it clear" that he wants to conclude an agreement to end russia's war against Ukraine by August 8. The United States stated this at the United Nations (UN) Security Council on Thursday, July 31, Reuters reported.

According to the publication, the corresponding statement was made by US diplomat John Kelley at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

"Both Russia and Ukraine must negotiate a ceasefire and durable peace. It is time to make a deal. President Trump has made clear this must be done by August 8. The United States is prepared to implement additional measures to secure peace," Kelley said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 14, US President Donald Trump said that he was dissatisfied with the behavior of the aggressor country russia and was ready to introduce tough economic measures if an agreement to end the war in Ukraine is not reached within 50 days.
