The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed the head of the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (Asset Recovery and Management Agency, ARMA) Olena Duma. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Yesterday I addressed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with the initiative to completely reboot ARMA. The President supported the Government's plan. Today at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of the agency was dismissed," she said.
Svyrydenko also reported that she had instructed to urgently launch a new competition for the head of ARMA, the competition commission will include government representatives and international partners who support Ukraine in the anti-corruption field.
"The main task is to ensure that all arrested assets, assets of sanctioned persons and property that belonged to russia work as much as possible for the defense and stability of Ukraine," the Prime Minister emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier on Wednesday, Duma announced that she had written a letter of resignation from her position. At the same time, Duma noted that today the law on strengthening the institutional capacity of ARMA officially entered into force and an international audit of the National Agency is ahead - an important step for further strengthening the work of ARMA, so she signed a statement to ensure its independent conduct.
On June 30, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed the former deputy head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Olena Duma, as the head of ARMA.
