Economy Minister Sobolev introduces his team of deputies

The newly appointed Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev has introduced his team of deputies. Sobolev reported this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In particular, on July 28, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Taras Vysotskyi, who has been the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food since May 2021, as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economy. Now his main areas of work are: European integration in the areas of food safety, fisheries and aquaculture; state support for crop production, livestock and horticulture; development of seed policy; coordination of logistics in the agricultural sector; development of alternative energy and agricultural insurance.

On July 28, the Cabinet also appointed Denys Bashlyk, who was previously the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization, as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economy. Now the main areas of his work are: development of land relations and geoinformation systems; implementation of rural development, innovation and knowledge transfer programs; attracting international support for the restoration of the agricultural sector.

On July 28, the Cabinet of Ministers also appointed Yehor Perelyhin, who was previously Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economy. At the Ministry of Economy, his main areas of work are: interaction with the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund; policy in the field of subsoil use and natural resource management; discovery and digitalization of geological information; development of critical minerals and international investment in the extractive industry; implementation of programs for reindustrialization and resource sustainability of the economy.

Daria Marchak, who was previously the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, will work to ensure that strategic reforms have funding, support from partners and real results for people and business, her main areas of work: coordination of European integration: implementation of the Plan of Ukraine, formation of a negotiating position on accession to the EU; employment policy and labor relations; privatization.

The following deputies continue to work at the Ministry of Economy:

Andrii Teliupa - oversees the "Made in Ukraine" program to support Ukrainian manufacturers, coordinates public procurement, development of the real sector of the economy, industrial policy, economic development of regions, state support for exports, financial instruments and insurance of military risks for business;

Oleksandr Tsybort - manages digital transformation at the Ministry of Economy, he will continue to work in the areas of: digital services and AI tools; deregulation and open data; intellectual property and cybersecurity;

Vitalii Kindrativ - implements the state policy of technical regulation, standardization, metrology; is engaged in the development and support of industrial parks and the assessment and support of investment projects with significant investments, conducts economic policy in the field of security and defense, state materiel reserve and protection of critical infrastructure. His areas of work are now added: foreign economic policy and trade protection; protection of the economic rights of national producers; coordination of export control; responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments (EIA) and maintaining the relevant Unified Register;

Sobolev noted that this is not yet the final replenishment of the Ministry of Economy, the formation of the team is ongoing. He noted that the Ministry of Economy is currently undergoing a large-scale transformation and is in the process of unification, but is already actively working in all areas.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 17, the Verkhovna Rada appointed a new Cabinet of Ministers of the newly appointed Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, in particular, Oleksii Sobolev was appointed Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture (previously he was First Deputy Minister of Economy). Thus, the Rada decided to merge the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food with the Ministry of Economy.
