North Korea may send additional troops to aggressor state of russia to participate in the war with Ukraine in July or August. In addition, the DPRK continues to supply weapons to russia.
This was stated by South Korean lawmaker Lee Song-kwon, citing intelligence data, Reuters reports.
He said that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) believes that russia may be ready for a large-scale offensive against Ukraine in July or August.
"The timing of the additional deployment (of troops - ed.) is that it could happen as early as July or August," Lee said, adding that the agency cited a new troop buildup by North Korea and a recent visit to Pyongyang by a senior security official of the russian leader as the basis for such an assessment.
Meanwhile, in exchange for North Korea supplying artillery ammunition and missiles to russia, Pyongyang is likely receiving technical advice on launching satellites and missile guidance systems.
As a reminder, North Korea has stated its readiness to fully support russia in its foreign policy actions, including aggression against Ukraine.
In addition, this is not the first warning from South Korea - it was previously reported that the aggressor country of russia may be preparing for a large-scale offensive on the territory of Ukraine this summer with the support of the North Korean military.
