The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB) conducted searches at former Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov's home.
Law enforcement sources have informed the Ukrainian News agency about this.
According to the interlocutors, the searches were conducted as part of a case of purchasing food for the army at inflated prices. The former Defense Minister is not currently a suspect in the case. The searches took place on Thursday, July 3. The investigation is ongoing. The NACB and SACPO are not commenting on this information.
During the investigative actions, a mobile phone and some documents were seized from Reznikov.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau is investigating a case of possible abuses by the Ministry of Defense in purchasing food for the military. The investigation is checking the Ministry of Defense's procurement of food for the army for over UAH 13 billion. Preliminary legal qualification – Part 5, Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense responded to the publication in the media of a material stating that the department had concluded an agreement on organizing food for the military and had inflated food prices several times.
