US President Donald Trump, commenting on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, said that the United States did not completely stop its transfer. At the same time, he accused former President Joe Biden of weakening the United States due to the volume of weapons transferred to Ukraine.
This is reported by Reuters.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said that "we haven't" stopped the flow of weapons completely. He also accused his predecessor Joe Biden of sending so many weapons that it weakened the US defense capabilities.
"We're giving weapons, but we've given so many weapons. But we are giving weapons. And we're working with them and trying to help them, but we haven't (completely stopped). You know, Biden emptied out our whole country giving them weapons, and we have to make sure that we have enough for ourselves," he said.
As a reminder, on July 2, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly reported in a comment to NBC News that the United States had decided to stop the supply of some weapons to Ukraine.
On the same day, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated that the United States had not received any official notifications about the suspension or revision of the schedules for the supply of defense assistance to Ukraine.
Also on July 2, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited a representative of the US Embassy to discuss support for Ukraine in countering russian aggression.
The Financial Times reported that some shipments of military aid from the US were stopped on their way to Ukraine, and the reason is cited as Washington's concerns about its dwindling weapons stocks and its own military readiness.
