North Korea to send up to 30,000 troops to bolster russia's military – CNN

North Korea is to send an additional 25,000 to 30,000 troops to help aggressor russia bolster its military in the war against Ukraine, CNN reported on Wednesday, July 2, citing Ukrainian intelligence.

According to an assessment reviewed by CNN, North Korean troops could arrive in russia in the coming months. The russian Defense Ministry is planning to provide the troops with the necessary weapons and ammunition to integrate them into russian combat units.

"The document adds "there is a great possibility" the North Korean troops will be engaged in combat in parts of Russian-occupied Ukraine "to strengthen the Russian contingent, including during the large-scale offensive operations," the material says.

In addition, the National Intelligence Service of South Korea (NIS) stated that North Korea has begun selecting personnel for deployment abroad, which could take place as early as July or August.
