AFU hit 4 russian planes at Marinovka airfield in Volgograd Oblast – General Staff

Units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit the Marinovka airfield in the Volgograd Oblast of the aggressor country russia. This is stated in a message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, June 27.

On the night of June 27, Ukrainian defenders hit enemy planes at the Marinovka airfield in the Volgograd Oblast. According to preliminary information, four Su-34 aircraft were hit, as well as a place where the occupiers repair and maintain various combat aircraft.

"Russian Su-34s are the main tactical aircraft that deliver missile and bomb strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements. In the russian aerospace forces, they are classified as front-line fighter-bombers. They are used, in particular, to drop guided bombs, including those with glide and correction modules (GCMs)," the General Staff reported.

The extent of damage to enemy equipment is currently being clarified.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine destroyed 41 russian aircraft during the Spiderweb special operation.

After the SSU's Spiderweb special operation, russia began a large-scale relocation of its strategic bombers from the European part of the country to the east and south.

The SSU reported that as a result of these actions, about 34% of russian cruise missile carriers were disabled, which is estimated at approximately USD 7 billion.
