A new prisoner exchange with russians has begun, which will continue in several stages in the coming days. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports

"Our people are at home. Ukrainians are returning home from Russian captivity. Today, the exchange began, which will continue in several stages in the coming days. Among the categories of those we are returning now are the wounded and seriously wounded, as well as those under 25. The process is quite complicated, there are many sensitive details, negotiations continue virtually every day," he said.

Zelenskyy noted that the Ukrainian side expects that the agreements on humanitarian issues reached during the meeting in Istanbul (Turkey) will be fully implemented.

He emphasized that the Ukrainian side is doing its utmost to return everyone and is working for this at all levels.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, during the second round of clashes in Istanbul on June 2, russia and Ukraine agreed on a new release of prisoners and an exchange of bodies of the dead.

Zelenskyy previously said that an exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and russia was to take place on June 7 and 8, and that the russian federation is ready to return 500 fighters.
