The aggressor country of russia is preparing to connect the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to its own energy system.
The American publication The New York Times writes about this, citing a Greenpeace report and satellite images.
According to Greenpeace, the russians are actively building power lines. Since the beginning of February this year, they have laid more than 80 kilometers of power lines on the section between occupied Mariupol in the Donetsk Region and Berdiansk in the Zaporizhzhia Region.
Greenpeace believes that the project is aimed at connecting new power lines to a large substation near Mariupol.
"This is the clearest evidence of russia's intention to restore work and operate the disconnected facility, despite the risks and calls to resolve the issue of the plant's status during peace talks," the publication writes.

Recall, last Thursday, May 22, the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andriushchenko, stated that connecting the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP to the russian power grid is a matter of several weeks.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 27, russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is not considering the option of joint management of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
