The russian occupiers have continued the construction of a power transmission line from the Zaporizhzhia NPP to the Mariupol District. If the Zaporizhzhia NPP has not yet been connected, then in a matter of weeks they will connect it to the energy system of the aggressor country, russia.
The head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andriushchenko, reported this on his Telegram channel on Thursday, May 22.
Andriushchenko noted that the occupiers are continuing to build a power line from the Zaporizhzhia NPP. According to him, a highway has already been built through the Mariupol District, in particular, from February to May they built a distribution node of the product pipeline together with a compressor station, and in another section they are completing the connection to the network.
"What it looks like on an open map with an update at the end of April was shown in dynamics. On site, it looks like the final stage of work. Taking into account the plans (including, but not exclusively) for the modernization of the Kherson Region in particular, which was discussed earlier, it looks like the Zaporizhzhia NPP, if not already included in the Russian energy system, then only a few weeks remain," Andriushchenko wrote.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 22, the Zaporizhzhia NPP informed the team of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) about a drone hitting the roof of the station's training center, located immediately outside its perimeter.
On May 7, one of the two power lines of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, occupied by the aggressor country russia, was cut off.
On April 24, the US presidential administration stated that the aggressor country russia must return control of the Zaporizhzhia NPP to Ukraine.
