The Netherlands will send its last F-16 fighter to Ukraine on Monday, May 26. This was announced by Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans. His words were quoted by Hartvannederland and WNL on Sunday, May 25.
Brekelmans noted that in this way Ukraine will receive all 24 promised Dutch F-16s.
"The Netherlands will send its last F-16 to Ukraine tomorrow. This means that all 24 promised fighters will soon be present in Ukraine," the Defense Minister said.
According to Brekelmans, it is important to continue to increase pressure on the aggressor country of russia and to continue to provide Ukraine with as much support as possible, since russian dictator putin does not want to talk seriously about a ceasefire. In addition, the Netherlands is training pilots and technicians, the Dutch Defense Minister emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Christopher Cavoli announced that Ukraine would receive additional F-16s.
Recall that in March of this year, it became known that Belgium had postponed the transfer of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine.
Recall that on October 6, 2024, Brekelmans announced that the first F-16 fighters from the Netherlands had been delivered to Ukraine.
