Ukraine will receive even more F-16 fighters after Ukrainian pilots complete training to master them. This was stated by NATO's joint commander in Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, during a hearing at the US Senate Committee on Armed Services, Ukrinform reported on Thursday, April 3.
"There are more F-16s preparing for deployment (in Ukraine - ed.). There are more pilots undergoing training," Cavoli said.
The general emphasized that a certain number of F-16 fighters are actively countering missile attacks by the aggressor country of russia and are used "every day" by the Ukrainian military. According to him, these aircraft have also carried out a large number of enemy bombings. At the same time, Cavoli said that the US did not transfer a single F-16 to Ukraine, all of them came from European countries, such as Denmark and the Netherlands.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 3, the Ministry of Defense announced that it had managed to reduce the training period for pilots on F-16 fighters by almost three months.
As we will recall, on August 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially confirmed the arrival of the first F-16s to Ukraine.
