A ship from the aggressor country of russia was making "suspicious" maneuvers near the location of the undersea cable connecting Poland with Sweden. This was reported by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on his X-account on Wednesday, May 21.
Tusk noted that the maneuvers were carried out by a ship from russia's sanctioned shadow fleet.
"A russian ship from the sanctioned "shadow fleet" was making suspicious maneuvers near the power cable connecting Poland with Sweden. After effective intervention by our military, the ship sailed to one of the russian ports," the Polish Prime Minister wrote.
Poland sent ORP Heweliusz, a research ship of the Polish Navy, to the scene of the incident.

In early December 2024, an internet cable belonging to the company Global Connect broke between Finland and Sweden.
In January 2025, the cable of the Latvian state television was severed in the Baltic Sea.
