Russian dictator vladimir putin showed disrespect for US President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by refusing to take part in the talks in Istanbul.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at a press conference in Ankara.
Zelenskyy recalled that putin himself offered to meet and hold talks.
"This cannot be. We are in Ankara now, we have just arrived here. After that, we are sending a group to Istanbul. He is not here, he is not in Istanbul," Zelenskyy said.
The head of state noted that no one can "run around the world" and look for putin.
Zelenskyy believes that the partners who helped organize the talks feel disrespected by russia.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had decided to send a delegation headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to Istanbul.
Recall that Reuters has learned the conditions under which the Ukrainian delegation will enter into direct negotiations with representatives of the russian federation.
We also wrote that the head of the russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, stated that the russian federation is allegedly ready for "possible compromises" in negotiations with Ukraine.
