UK Defense Ministry publishes satellite images of 51st arsenal of russian Defense Ministry, which burned and exploded on April 22

The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom in its intelligence review published satellite images of the 51st arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country russia in the Vladimir Oblast. It was partially destroyed as a result of explosions, the incident occurred on April 22, 2025.

The Ministry of Defense of the UK published the image on its page on X (Twitter).

Satellite images show that as a result of the explosions, a large part of the protective structures in which missiles and ammunition were stored were destroyed.

It is emphasized that the fire and explosions that occurred as a result of the detonation of ammunition damaged more than one square kilometer of the arsenal.

It is clearly visible that the ammunition storage facilities are completely destroyed. The surrounding area is covered with water, which was probably used to extinguish a large-scale fire.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 22, 2025, a large-scale fire broke out at the 51st arsenal of the russian Ministry of Defense in the Vladimir Oblast.

According to information from various sources, this arsenal could have stored from 105 to 270 thousand tons of various ammunition.

As a reminder, in September 2024, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the 107th arsenal of the russian Defense Ministry's GRAU in the Tver Oblast. The detonation of ammunition there triggered several local earthquakes, and the explosions themselves were visible from space.
