As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 1, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the subsoil agreement would show the russian leadership that there is "no difference" between the goals of the US and Ukraine, and would also allow US President Donald Trump to conduct negotiations on a more solid basis.

On May 1, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also stated that the agreement on economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United States is an important step towards ending the full-scale war in Ukraine.

On the night of May 1, Ukraine and the United States signed an agreement on minerals.
