The economic cooperation agreement between Ukraine and the United States, signed on April 30, is an important step towards ending the full-scale war in Ukraine.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this on X (Twitter).
"Thanks to President Trump's leadership, the United States and Ukraine signed the Reconstruction Investment Fund Agreement today - an important milestone in our shared prosperity and a step towards ending this war," Rubio said.
The agreement concerns the creation of an investment fund for the reconstruction and development of the mineral resources industry. Back in February, the parties were preparing an agreement on cooperation in the field of rare earth resources, but the signing did not take place then due to a dispute between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US Vice President J.D. Vance and Donald Trump in the White House.
After that, negotiations resumed, and the document was finalized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukraine and the United States signed an agreement on minerals.
