Indictment against Poroshenko will be considered by Pecherskyi District Court

The indictment against former President Petro Poroshenko was sent to the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv.

This is stated in the response of the Prosecutor General's Office to the request of the Ukrainian News Agency.

"Investigators of the interdepartmental investigative group of the Main Investigation Directorate of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a pre-trial investigation into the charges of K., M., P. under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 111, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, the pre-trial investigation has been completed, the indictment was sent to the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv on April 16, 2025," the response to the request states.

The indictment was sent to the court on April 16.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the case was completed back in 2022. The review of the case materials lasted three years. Previously, the State Bureau of Investigation refused to provide information on the stage of the investigation of the case against former President Petro Poroshenko. The State Bureau of Investigation also denied media reports about the destruction of materials from a number of high-profile criminal cases, in particular, the case of the "Kharkiv Agreements" and the "coal case" (concerning Verkhovna Rada member Viktor Medvedchuk and former President Petro Poroshenko).

The State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine suspect former President Petro Poroshenko of treason due to his facilitation of the supply of coal from occupied areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions to Ukrainian state-owned enterprises.
